GARY SPELLMAN
BIOGRAPHY
Gary Spellman is the super charged, dynamic co-founder of Ultimate Face Cosmetics. A strong work ethic emerged in Gary at a young age. However, a pivotal personal and professional moment occurred for Gary while working the door at one of the top night spots in Newport, RI; he met and became friends with John Paul DeJoria. Thus his long-standing relationship with John Paul Mitchell Systems was born.
During his 25 plus years in the professional beauty industry, Gary has performed many roles: field sales, sales management, sales trainer, distributor, manufacturer and salon coordinator, to name a few.
Gary’s commitment to excellence is not limited to the professional beauty industry… He is also serious about giving back. The annual Peace, Love, and Happiness Ride that he founded with his longtime friend, John Paul DeJoria has raised over a million dollars for the 100 Club of Central Texas (which benefits the orphans and widows of fallen peace officers). Among his many other charitable endeavors, Gary also finds time to protect the planet by serving on the board of several innovative companies such as Eco Outlaw, Tri Carbon Energy, and The Backyard.
If he isn’t busy saving the planet, or practicing philanthropy… you can most likely find this dynamo racing his mountain bike competitively or shredding a mountain on his snow board. All of these activities, however, come a distant second to his family – son Dakota and his wife and Ultimate Face co-founder, Laurie Spellman.
ENVIRONMENT
We all share the Planet and we need to be better Stewards of Mother Earth.
Back in 2007 I was working with some real cool folks trying to reduce our carbon footprint and find a new way to ride and power our Motorcycles. Thus we created the Eco-Outlaw powered by alternative fuels like e85. E85 gas (also known as flex fuel) is a high-level combination of ethanol and gasoline that consists of 51 percent to 83 percent ethanol blended with gasoline. The percentage of ethanol depends on the geographical location and time of the year. Producers add more ethanol in the summer as opposed to the winter.
CHARITIES
100 Club
The 100 Club of Central Texas was established in 1983 and is the leader in providing financial support to the families of first responders who have been killed or critically injured in the line of duty. We serve emergency medical technicians, firefighters, and law enforcement officers in Bastrop, Bell, Caldwell, Hays, Travis, and Williamson counties.
Motorcycle Missions
Motorcycle Missions are a 501(c)3 Non-Profit Corporation helping Veterans and First Responders who deal with PTS(D) and suicidal ideation find hope and healing through motorcycles.
